Land use
Standard land use values, the same in every county.
A parcel’s assessment.use and assessment.class each carry the county’s code and description, and standard, a value from the list below. A value is a category, or a category and a kind joined by a dot. standard is null where the county’s code is not classified.
"assessment": {
"class": { "code": "R", "description": "Residential", "standard": "residential" },
"use": { "code": "01", "description": "SINGLFAM", "standard": "residential.single_family" },
...
}Filtering
land_use on GET /v1/parcel matches the use or the class. A category also matches each of its kinds, so vacant includes vacant.residential. Repeat it to match any of several values. This finds vacant parcels of 5 acres or more in Wake County, North Carolina:
curl -G 'https://api.placestack.com/v1/parcel' \
--data-urlencode 'fips=37183' \
--data-urlencode 'land_use=vacant' \
--data-urlencode 'min_acres=5' \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $PLACESTACK_API_KEY"Parcels whose code is not classified never match. Any other value returns 422.
Values
Each value lists the nearest activity code in the American Planning Association’s Land Based Classification Standards (LBCS).
