One format for every county

Each county publishes its records differently. Placestack reads them into the same fields, so a query that works in one county works in all of them.

Parcel numbers

The county's parcel number, and every other number it uses for the parcel, such as a tax map or account number.

Standard land use

Every county's land use codes map to one list, such as vacant, single family or warehouse. The county's own code stays on the record.

Boundaries and map tiles

Each parcel comes with its boundary as GeoJSON. Vector tiles put every parcel on your own map.

Dated records

Every record shows the date it was last updated.

Frequently asked questions

What is parcel data?
Parcel data is the county's record of a piece of land: its parcel number, boundary, owners, assessed value, sales and buildings. Counties keep these records to assess property taxes.
Where does the parcel data come from?
From county assessors, county GIS offices and statewide parcel programs. Placestack reads each source into one format and keeps the values as the county publishes them.
How current is the data?
Each record shows the date it was last updated. Counties publish on their own schedules, from daily to once a year.
Can I get every parcel in a county?
Yes. Page through a county with the API, 200 parcels at a time. Contact sales for bulk delivery.
Does the data include parcel boundaries?
Yes. Request GeoJSON boundaries with any search, or use the vector tiles to show parcels on your own map.
How much does parcel data cost?
A lookup costs 1 credit, and a search costs 1 credit per 20 results. The free plan includes 500 credits, with no credit card.
